WAGS of SCI: The Podcast - Ep. 54 - Tendon/Nerve Transfer Surgery: A Discussion
/

What exactly is Nerve/Tendon transfer surgery for SCI patients? Most people are not familiar with this elective surgery after Spinal Cord Injury because it is highly complex and only offered by select surgeons. So when Elena’s boyfriend Dan (C6 Quadriplegic) decided to undergo this custom surgery, you know your girls had to get together and discuss it from a caregivers perspective!

Join us as we break down what this surgery is, who qualifies for it, why its a helpful surgery for those who want it, and how it can increase mobility and independence for Qudriplegics with limited hand or arm function. We also discuss Elena’s experiences as Dan’s primary caregiver AFTER the surgery, and what she knows now after learning what to do/what not to do. Enjoy and as always, let us know if you have any questions or other thoughts by emailing us wagsofsci@gmail.com
