Get involved in this thriving group!
There are plenty of ways each WAG of SCI can lend a hand to this community in order to keep it going. We rely on our members to help us spread the word, and ask that each of our members contribute in one way each year. Read on for ideas on how YOU can help..
The WAGS of SCI community is continually looking for women to help us in various ways. Because we are completely independent, and do not have a foundation with donors to rely on, YOUR help and assistance is directly what keeps this group on it's feet as a unique and individual part of the SCI world.
Ways you can contribute each year:
- Donate $10 to the WAGS of SCI Date Night/Self Care Fund as a way to give back to the women who need it
- Distribute one package of WAGS brochures to your local area hospital, rehab centre or physiotherapy gym. This is the KEY way that WAGS is introduced to new members when they need us the most
- Volunteer as a "buddy" WAG to new WAGS of SCI who have just joined our networks (application process required)
- Share your story with our community! We are continually looking for women to write about their stories so we can share them over instagram, our blog, and Facebook. This will also help you find your own networks and new followers who want to see your personal journey! Email us at wagsofsci@gmail.com with your write up, photos and tags/location
- Join the WAGS of SCI Self Care 5k Virtual Walk/Run that takes place every March! Sign up a team, or join another's team, and help us raise funds virtually for the WAGS Date Night Fund!
- Apply as a volunteer Social Media Ambassador! WAGS has over 12k followers on instagram, and needs willing WAGS to help share content
- Purchase 1 item of official WAGS merchandise! All proceeds go directly to the WAGS Date Night Fund
- Come on the WAGS Podcast to discuss your unique story or feature your expertise with our audience. Our episodes run from half hour to 1.5 hours in length and are released weekly
- Write a short piece for the wagsofsci.com community resource project, or create a guest blog featuring a topic you're interested in
This list is not exhaustive - there are many unique ways you can bring your uniqueness to WAGS - we would love to hear from you!
