WAGS of SCI: The Podcast - Ep. 48 - WAGS Who's Partners Have Been Injured Recently: This Is For YOU
/

Join us for an honest and revealing discussion around the first stages of our Quadriplegic partners Spinal Cord Injuries – We experienced trauma too!

The first few months, and years after your partner sustains a Spinal Cord Injury are by far the most life changing, exhausting and traumatizing moments you will ever go through. There is no sugar coating that. Your whole world has been flipped upside down, you are experiencing extreme grief, loss, and shoved into a new way of living. Your partner has just experienced a life changing trauma of his own, and you are beside him wondering if your feelings are even valid. After all, he’s the one who was injured. Faced with fear, regret, dismay and terror, we know all too well the feelings that surround such a catastrophic injury, and to deal with it alone without any real mental and emotional support can be devastating.

Listen as we discuss our experiences during the first months and years of our partners injuries, and how we yo-yo’d and experienced side effects of suppressed, unattended to emotions of our own. Learn how we recovered, and what advice we have for you as you go through this. This emotional and raw episode will be sure to comfort you and help you get through even your darkest moments.
