WAGS of SCI: The Podcast - Ep. 60 - Training Your Body Using Breathwork
/

Join hosts Brooke and Elena for a discussion about the breath – and how you can use it to reduce your stress, heal your anxiety and re-train your body for well-being.

Who hasn’t faced some form of stress in their daily lives living this SCI or Caregiving life? We can imagine 99% of you do – and most of us experience chronic, low level stress all the time. We can also make the argument that that 1% who may say they don’t experience stress is just not aware of it 🙂 Whether we like it or not, stress is a natural part of life while we are living this human experience. The good news is, though, that YOU can take control and become the one who directs your body into healing from that stress.. it just takes a little bit of knowledge, a change in perspective, and some dedication.

When we think of our nervous system as the greatest pharmacy available (as Dr Joe Dispenza always says) and as our very own built in notification system, we can harness its power to train our body to respond differently to stressful situations. Just changing that perspective in itself gives you your power to heal yourself back. But how do you do this? The answer lies within the breath.

During this episode we discuss the FREE techniques we have learned that are scientifically proven to help you gain control of your body via the breath when it is in a fight or flight reaction. We talk about how the simplest forms of healing lie within us already, and how we can take back our power and learn to train our systems to respond differently to our environment. You DO have control over your reactions, stress response and more. We delve into how this effects your physiological body systems, and how various modalities of breathing train the Vagus Nerve to regulate your parasympathetic response to trauma.

You’ll want to write down these techniques and research them yourself to find one that works for you, and use them every day of your life!! We hope you enjoy xoxox
