Curious as to what it is like working as a nurse on the Covid-19 frontlines while also being a wife to a quadriplegic? Join hosts Brooke and Elena as they talk to Ashley Eigen, the WAGS of SCI Ambassador to Philadelphia who also is a student nurse caring for Covid-19 patients on the frontline during this pandemic.
Get to know Ashley and learn more of her personal story, how she met her C5 Quadriplegic husband Kiel, and learn how his injury has made them both stronger and more resilient in their relationship.
Ashley’s passion for nursing runs in her family, and when she finally took the opportunity to go back to school, she committed her life to helping others in many ways. After she met her partner Kiel, she found the group WAGS of SCI and immediately wanted to help other WAGS in her area. She now devotes much of her free time to helping other women feel loved and supported in the WAGS of SCI group.
When the pandemic hit and panic ensued, Ashley soon learned that she would have to dig deep and find mental strength, balance and wellness within herself in order to get herself through the stresses this life brings, one day at a time.
Learn how Ashley cares for her own mental and emotional health, and how she recharges and balances her nurse life with caregiving life during a pandemic.
Ashley is an inspiration to us all, and we can all learn a thing or two from her experiences!
