We are so excited to announce our next Instagram takeover happening Wednesday, June 26th!
We will be featuring Leanne Lavender, a WAG of SCI and accessible design expert who runs the blog and instagram page "@Lavenderslongshot". You probably already know or recognize Leanne, and we are so grateful to be able to have some time with her to pick her brain about all things Accessible Interior Design!
Here is Leanne with her husband Derek and their dog Barkus!
From Leanne: "Derek was injured in 2016. T4 complete paraplegic. We realized we had a passion for design and renovation in 2014 when we renovated a 1 car garage into our living space. When the accident happened in 2016, we started again by designing a renovation for our 1952 ranch home. We learned that accessibility doesn't mean your house can't be beautiful. There are ways to incorporate accessibility and interior design into every room.In 2018, I started Lavender Accessible Design to help families design and implement accessible spaces for their loved ones. It can be a full home renovation or just a simple room design. We want to help families coming right out of rehab or someone wanting to add an accessible suite to their home for their mother in law."
